Windows Vista and Mozilla Thunderbird

Just decided to share my experience with you. Recently I bought a new laptop and it already had Windows Vista installed. Of course it already had all those bells and whistles that should be registered as they were installed in trial mod. So, I decided to start installation from scratch.

I must consider installation was pretty fast even taking in account I re formatted disks. So after installation has been completed I started to configure my Vista. I expected to see a lot of incompatibility notices but the only software I could not install is virtual daemon or something like that.

I use email very often so one of the first installed programs was Mozilla Thunderbird. It was 1.6 version. I successfully configured my mailbox and started to receive messages. Got several and tried to reply. And here is strange thing happened. I could not do that. Yeah, I could not send a single email from my Thunderbird. I tried all possible options. I do remember how I had it configured on my Windows XP SP 2 and the configurations were similar. So it was quite logical to suppose I should find the solution in Windows configuration. I tried several possible options and nothing. I still could not send my email.

I uninstalled 1.6 version and installed the latest package. Now it perfectly works. I do not know what's that. Mystic or Mozilla Thunderbird 1.6 really can not send emails in Vista.

May be some of you already had similar problem..
