How to Include Technorati Authority Widget on your Site

Today I want to show you how to add one of Technorati’s widgets to your site’s sidebar. This widget simply displays the score that is based on the number of blogs linking to your blog.

First off, copy the code snippet below, replacing {URL} with your blog URL.

Assuming that we are going to place the widget below the calendar on the site, let’s make some changes in footer.tpl file. FTP to your site and open this file which is located in templates/Default/. Scroll down through the file, find this line:  and paste the code snippet below it. See the shoot below:

Save changes and overwrite the file if your FTP client asks. The widget may not appear on your page for some minutes, so don’t worry. It takes Technorati some time to build a custom widget with your blog’s authority. After it’s done you will be able to see something like this:
